Translink travel is even better for students with a Translink Student Discount Card. You’ll get great savings on bus and rail services throughout Northern Ireland and on cross-border services too! Special discounted or short term promotional fares excluded.

The Student Discount Card is valid from 1 September 2011 until 30 September 2012 and only costs £7.

Who Can Apply?


Student Savings
  • Students on a full-time course or full-time professional training in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.
  • Also, school pupils in full time education from the age of 16.

 Part-time or evening students are not eligible.

Always carry your Translink Student Discount Card when travelling. Students unable to produce a Translink Student Discount Card will be required to purchase a new ticket at full price and may be liable for prosecution

Getting a card for the first time


Firstly, download the Translink Student Discount Card Application Form for 2011/12 >> To get your Student Discount Card simply complete the application form and take it to your nearest Translink bus or train station with £7.

You will also need to bring along the following:

  • 1 passport sized photograph of yourself
    (Name & date of birth must be written on reverse of photo).
  • College Photo ID
    (A registration receipt/letter from your college PLUS a valid passport
    or driver’s licence will be accepted in the absence of College Photo ID).

 

If FULL-TIME STATUS is NOT detailed on your College Photo ID or Registration Receipt / Letter you must have your application form stamped by your College/University to prove you are attending a full-time course.
